We picked walnuts in El Toro 1938, San Juan Capistrano 1942, and Walnut Creek, CA.1944. and I never saw one of those walnut picking gizmos.Edward T. It was on Culver alongside some railroad tracks northeast of the Racquet Club. I was surprised as I never saw or heard anyone talking about almond orchards while growing up in Santa Ana. Could he have meant walnut shells?
