Dollar Builders, Santa Ana
No big post today. Just this great 1955 postcard for Dollar Builders of Santa Ana from the collection of Mark Hall-Patton. I love architectural illustrations of this style and era, and I always wonder where the original paintings ended up.
Awesome! This is close to where I live. My house is in the same style! That's the closest I have been to finding drawings or anything at all about my housing tract. What's weird is that there are no homes similar to that on that corner today. They are a bit northwest of that location.
Sadly, I had to shut down comments (my favorite part of the blog) thanks to endless spam. Most of my posts are linked from my FB page, so feel free to comment there or to email me. If I can find a more secure way to do so, I will bring back normal commenting later.

Hey this is my grandmother's home, on Dianne Street, Just north of East Fruit in eastern Santa Ana.
ReplyDeleteFun to see the post card. Thank you.
That is great. I would really like to find out where I might find others like this - or builders info from the 1960's with photo's and floor plans.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the McFly home from Back to The Future!
