How I wish I knew! I love those ladies' hats!
ReplyDeleteif the costuming in the film Titanic is correct, these outfits look really similar! so maybe sometime around 1915? but that's just a guess!
ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with old cameras, but seems one could research the model and zero in on that.
ReplyDeleteThe building in the background seems familiar, and might be in the old Irvine Park.
I think it was taken in Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley.
ReplyDeleteIt was a little after 1914-1915 when Kodak went away from those bulbs and went to a plunger shutter cord.
ReplyDeleteThe Model 4A Folding Camera was 11 inches long...so it could be this model made from 1906-1915.
I agree with CoxPilot, I think it's Irvine Park.
ReplyDeleteThe building looks like the the one where (at that time) housed the row boats you could rent, now they have paddle boats & paddle bikes. This is just a guess!
I initially thought of Irvine Park (then called Orange County Park) myself. But it's not the boathouse in the background. It doesn't match contemporary photos of that building. The arch shape on the front is not a match.
ReplyDeleteDan: No, it is not Mile Square Park! ;-)
Did you ever get to the bottom of this? It's interesting. One thing I'd point out is that most of the people in the photograph have the 'same' very distinctive nose. Maybe that nose has been passed on - its certainly extremely consistent in this photo! Thanks for posting it. Judy
